ABHYUDAY - NHPC Business Simulation Games – A Competition of Business Strategy and Management Skills
NHPC is conducting Business Simulation program with an objective to enhance cross-functional learning and managerial ability among employees. Online nominations are invited from the willing employees to participate in the Intra-NHPC Global Management Challenge 2026. Each team shall comprise of 3 or 4 participants, as per mutual consideration and compete for the NHPC Championship. All teams shall initially compete in a Qualification Round to Qulified for the Business Simulation Games.
Top 64 Teams, nominated from the Qualification Round, shall than compete over a 3-Round Business Simulation challenge designed to enhance managerial capacity and test everyone’s skills and knowledge to best limit. The Business Simulation program is being organized in association with Global Management Challenge (GMC) – the world’s largest strategy and management platform. The simulation exercise will focus on special emphasis on Strategy formation, Scenario analysis, cross-functional coordination and forming consensus to make commercial and strategic decisions on Finance, Marketing, HR, Production / Operations etc.
Top 8 Teams from the competition will be nominated to represent NHPC at GMC India National Finals – 2026.

The maiden edition of the Business Simulation Games, introduced in NHPC during 2024– 25 under the intervention titled “ABHYUDAY,” received an overwhelming response across employee profiles, from Junior Engineers to General Managers. The initiative emerged as a significant milestone in preparing our human capital for the future, enabling employees to develop business acumen, cross-functional understanding, collaborative decision-making capabilities, and the agility required to navigate an increasingly dynamic and diversified business environment.
Building upon the remarkable success of the first edition, the 2nd edition of ABHYUDAY further strengthened this innovative learning intervention, witnessing the participation of 135 teams across NHPC. The success of our participants extended beyond the organizational boundaries when one of the NHPC teams nominated for the GMC India National Finals secured an outstanding Second Position at the National Finals and was awarded a cash prize of ₹75,000. This was a landmark achievement and the first time NHPC secured a podium position at the GMC India National Finals, In Just 2nd Year After Introduction bringing great pride and recognition to the organization.
Delighted to note that NHPC is embarking upon the 3rd Edition of ABHYUDAY Business Simulation Games – 2026, designed by Global Management Challenge, with the objective of taking this journey of experiential learning to an even higher level. The laurels earned in the previous edition have set a new benchmark for us. The enthusiasm, capability and competitive spirit that will be demonstrated by our employees will enable NHPC to achieve even greater success in the 2026 edition and bring back more such laurels and recognition to the organization at the national and international platforms.

Business Simulation Games are one of such action learning mechanism which highly focus on replicating various aspects of business operations and management. These activities allow participant employees through different dummy exercises to experience the challenges and decision-making processes involved in running a business.

The simulator allows participants to manage a company with global operations and take control of all it’s business activity in capacity of the senior management in a simulated environment.
Participants in GMC are honored with a Diploma in Management as per EFMD - EOCCS Certification
The platform is accredited by the EFMD - European Foundation for Management Development with EOCCS Certification. The Training Certificate awarded in Global Management Challenge is accordingly equivalent to a “Diploma in Management”.

Form a Team of 3-4 Members
To take part in the ABHYUDAY – NHPC Business Simulation Games – 2026, staff members across all regions in NHPC are invited for participation. Each Team must consist of 3 or 4 members, as per following guidelines:
- Each Team must consist of 3 – 4 members. It is encouraged to have at least 1 female member.
- Each Team should preferably consist of 1 member each from
- Engineering / IT
- HR / PR / Law
- Finance
- It is advisable that employees form the team as per the defined composition as mentioned above, however the same is not binding upon.
- It is advised that teams be formed on proximity basis (from same location) for better accomplishment of the simulation exercises.
- Each Team must nominate, 1 member among themselves as Team Captain. By default, the organizers will consider Team Member 1 as Team Captain.
- A participant can only be associated with 1 Team. Registrations with common participants shall not be accepted. Once the Registration is complete, the members within the team cannot be changed.
ABHYUDAY - NHPC Business Simulation Games 2026 will consist of 4 Rounds followed by National Finals.
The complete format of the competition will be as follows:
All registered Teams take part in Qualification Round. Top 64 Teams from the Round shall be nominated for the Round 1 of the main competition.
64 registered Teams will take part in Round 1. Teams are divided in 8 Groups with 8 Teams each. Top 5 Teams / Group (or max. 40 Teams) are nominated for Round 2.
40 Teams nominated from Round 1 will take part in the Round 2. Teams are divided in 5 Groups with 8 Teams each. Top 4 Teams / Group (or max. 20 Teams) are nominated for Round 3.
20 Teams nominated from Round 2 will take part in the Round 3. Teams are divided in 4 Groups with 5 Teams each. Top 2 Teams / Group (or max. 8 Teams) are nominated for Company Finals.
8 Teams nominated from Round 2 will take part in Company Finals. Teams are divided in 1 Group with all the 8 Teams. Top 8 Teams are nominated for GMC India National Finals.
The competition is completely Online and to be organized from September – December 2026

Top 8 Teams from ABHYUDAY - NHPC Business Simulation Games to compete at GMC India – National Finals. The winner of National Finals will go on to represent Team India at GMC World Finals
The International Final, where the winning teams of each country compete for the World Title, is a milestone and prestigious event, which provides a unique experience of contact between different cultures and the reality of competing at an international level.
Nigeria to host GMC International Finals for 2025 edition from 11-13 November, 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria.
ABHYUDAY - NHPC Business Simulation Games 2025
135 Teams took part in the Qualification Round. The round consisted of a Quiz Challenge based on the company’s Annual Report for FY 2024-25. Top 32 Teams (comprising 03 -04 members each) participated in the event from different NHPC locations comprising the employees from different levels from Junior Engineer to General Manager.
A total of 03 Rounds were scheduled under this intervention out of which 1st Round and 2nd Round were organized in online mode while Final Round was organized in offline mode at Corporate Office. All 32 Teams participated in the 1st Round out of which 20 Teams qualified for 2nd Round. After appearing into 2nd Round, top 08 Teams out of 20 teams qualified to participate in the 3rd and Final Round.
Sh Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) and other senior officers presented the prizes & certificates to the winners, congratulated them on their performance and conveyed good luck for the National Finals which were scheduled in April 2026.
