Power Grid Business Simulation Games – A Competition of Business Strategy and Management Skills
Power Grid Business Simulation Games will be a Management Development program organized for employees and staff members of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, all across the country. The objective of the program shall be to enhance managerial ability, develop cross-functional understanding and improve business productivity among staff members at Power Grid.
To participate in the challenge, staff members will be invited to form a team of 3- 4 Members (In case of a team of 4 members, minimum 1 participant within the team must be a Female participant.) and register. In a multi – round competition format, performance of teams will be assessed under complex business scenarios and in a competitive environment. Through the competition, best 8 Teams from the company shall be nominated for participation in GMC India National Finals and finally the winner of National Finals will be nominated for participation in GMC World Finals and represent India.
Why Participate?
Global Management Challenge, is the world’s largest strategy and management competition
As of 2026, only 138 courses from 32 institutions in 16 countries are accredited with EOCCS Certification by European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The Training Certificate awarded in Global Management Challenge is accordingly equivalent to a “Diploma in Management”.
Form a Team of 3-4 Members:
To take part in the POWERGRID Business Simulation Games – 2026, staff members across all regions in POWERGRID are invited for participation. Each Team must consist of 3-4 members. As rules specified below.
- Each Team must consist of minimum 3 and maximum 4 members. In case of a team of 4 members, minimum 1 participant within the team must be a Female participant.
- It is advised that teams be formed with members from same location for better accomplishment of the simulation exercises.
- Each Team must nominate, 1 member among themselves as Team Captain. By default, the organizers will consider Team Member 1 as Team Captain.
- A particpant can only be associated with 1 Team. Registrations with common participants shall not be accpeted.
- Once the Registration is complete, the members within the team cannot be changed.
Power Grid Business Simulation Games 2026 will consist of 5 Rounds followed by National Finals.
All Registered Teams will compete against each other in a multi-round format, with the best teams progressing to the next rounds. The complete format of the competition will be as follows:
All registered Teams take part in the Round 1. Teams are divided in 20 Groups with 8 Teams each. Top 4 Teams / Group (or max. 80 Teams) are nominated for Round 2.
80 Qualified Teams from last Round will take part in Round 2. Teams are divided in 16 Groups with 5 Teams each. Top 2 Teams / Group (or max. 32 Teams) are nominated for Round 3.
32 Teams nominated from Round 2 will take part in the Round 3. Teams are divided in 4 Groups with 8 Teams each. Top 2 Teams / Group (or max. 8 Teams) are nominated for Company Finals.
8 Teams nominated from Round 3 will take part in Company Finals. Teams are divided in 1 Group with all the 8 Teams. Top 8 Teams are nominated for GMC India National Finals.
Top 8 Teams from Power Grid Business Simulation Game to compete at GMC India – National Finals. The winner of National Finals will go on to represent Team India at GMC World Finals
The International Final, where the winning teams of each country compete for the World Title, is a milestone and prestigious event, which provides a unique experience of contact between different cultures and the reality of competing at an international level.
Nigeria to host GMC International Finals for 2025 edition in September 2026

Power Grid Business Simulation Games 2024
The competition in 2024 edition saw rise in participation in terms of Teams to 134 in 2024. This was 65.00 % higher than the 2022 teams registration of 81. Also, the total participation of employees stood at 454. The Competition also saw rise in the no. of female participants to 81 Employees, which equalled to 18% of the total participation.
The Top 8 Teams from Semi Finals, were nominated for Company Finals, scheduled on 25 October, 2024 at PAL, Manesar. During the day each team competed against other teams in an intense test of managerial capability powered by GMC Business Simulation.
The competition was followed by Award Ceremony, with Director Personnel as the Chief Guest for the event.
After an intense competition and determined hard work, Team DELTA_.IN was judged as the best performing company in the competition. The members of team were as follows:
