India bags 6th place at GMC International Finals 2022, held in Angola (25-27 September)

Global Management Challenge is an innovative way to develop the knowledge and skills of our employees It is also an opportunity to discover management potential among young talents.

This year managers from NTPC – Harshit Pratap, Akshansh Chourasia, Nikhil Gupta and Dharmendrasingh Sisodiya participated at GMC International Finals 2022, held in Angola from 25-27 September, 2023. The team has managed to bag 6th Place at the world’s largest strategy and management competition.

The Team was nominated for participation in International Finals on the basis of their victory in Global Management Challenge India last year, where they competed against more than 1000 teams comprising of students and other corporates. This was the 4th edition of GMC in India, and it was 2nd time that the competition was won by a team from NTPC.

This year the International Finals took place in the beautiful city of Luanda in Angola. It was a 3 day event with an Opening Ceremony on Day 1, followed by Semi Finals on Day 2 and then Finals on Day 3. In Semi Finals, India was allotted Red Group with Spain, Angola and Cameroon. Based on the result of Semi Finals (Top 2 Teams from each group qualify for Finals), Indian finished 2nd in the Group, led by Angola.

In the Final Round, 6 countries took part: Angola, China, Georgia, India, Russia and Uzbekistan. It was an intense competition of strategy and management based on GMC Business Simulation, and the final standing was as follows:

  • 1st Place – China
  • 2nd Place – Russia
  • 3rd Place – Angola
  • 4th Place – Georgia
  • 5th Place – Uzbekistan
  • 6th Place – India
