NHPC – India’s Premier Hydro Power Utility, uses GMC for Employee Capacity Development.

Global Management Challenge is an innovative way to develop the knowledge and skills of our employees It is also an opportunity to discover management potential among young talents.

NHPC introduced Business Simulation Games based on the Global Management Challenge application, among it’s organization with an objective to enhance cross-functional learning and managerial ability among employees. Online nominations were invited from the willing employees to participate in the Inter-NHPC Business Simulation Games.

Accordingly, a total 32 team’s nominations consisting 3 members in each team were received for Business Simulation Games 2024 across the country. Further, these 32 teams participated in 3 rounds of GMC Business Simulation.

The simulation exercise will focus on special emphasis on Strategy formation, Scenario analysis, cross-functional coordination and forming consensus to make commercial and strategic decisions on Finance, Marketing, HR, Production / Operations etc.

According to Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), “Business Simulation Games are one of such action learning mechanism which highly focus on replicating various aspects of business operations and management. These activities allow participant employees through different dummy exercises to experience the challenges and decision-making processes involved in running a business.

NHPC has been striving hard to keep its employees abreast with latest knowledge and skills for optimum productivity and in that pursuit Business Simulation Mechanism is being introduced as a new learning intervention. I am sure this AI based global application shall prove to be a milestone for preparing our Human capital future ready, maintaining equilibrium with diversifying business folio of NHPC and for developing cross functional insights to meet upcoming challenges.
