Global Management Challenge is an innovative way to develop the knowledge and skills of our employees It is also an opportunity to discover management potential among young talents.
Forty Vodacom Moçambique employees took part in the Vodacom Management Challenge 2024. The participants were organized into 8 Company Management Teams consisting of 5 EXCO members each.
Managers experienced firsthand the tremendous challenge of managing a listed company, managing resources and risk in a market characterized by high volatility and uncertainty, and making management decisions focused on serving customers and generating shareholder value.
Led by their CEOs – Cinthia de Almeida, Almirante Dimas, Tagy Bacar, Mohamed Kleiser Sarifo, Mugisha Mupenda, Samuel Orlando Nhantumbo, Álvaro Fernando G.S. Simões – the management teams defined strategies and made Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Marketing and Commercial decisions in an integrated way, to improve organizational performance, overcome the competition and increase the market value of their companies.
During 5 quarters of activity, the 40 managers saw the preparation and the result of the decisions made reflected in the performance and valuation of each company, and consequently in the final classification.
This program represented a differentiating experience for all participants who had significant exposure to business areas other than the one in which they evolve on a daily basis, and contributed to increase their preparation to deal with day-to-day professional challenges internally and externally when dealing with clients.
The Vodacom Management Challenge 2024 was supported by the João Matoso Henriques in Maputo and was developed for Vodacom Mozambique based on the Global Management Challenge business management simulation platform – the largest strategy and management competition in the world – currently present in more than 40 countries. Since 1980, more than 1,000,000 (1 million) employees of public and private sector organizations and university students from the most varied geographies have participated in the Global Management Challenge.
