University of Warsaw students won the Global Management Challenge Poland

Global Management Challenge is an innovative way to develop the knowledge and skills of our employees It is also an opportunity to discover management potential among young talents.

The team of students of mathematics and computer science from the University of Warsaw won the national finals of the Global Management Challenge (GMC). The Institute will represent Poland in the GMC World Finals, the largest international business simulation.

This year\’s Polish edition of Global Management Challenge event was attended by over five hundred student and managerial teams. 8 teams qualified to the finals. At the end of March, they battled in the national finals of the competition, which took place in Warsaw.

In the final challenge won the team of students of mathematics and computer science from the University of Warsaw: “Piratas del Norte”. The winning team were: Paweł Przytuła, Damian Rodziewicz, Marek Rogala, Filip Stachura. The award, in addition to participation in the world finals of the competition, were invitations to post-graduate studies at Kozminski University.

“In the finals, the biggest challenge is to make complex decisions under time pressure, which is really running out. At such times, trust and teamwork is especially important” – said winning team captain Filip Stachura.

Members of the best team have been working together for several years, gaining experience in international companies such as Google, Microsoft, UBS and Samsung. Later this year they plan to start their own business. “This competition was the ultimate test of the four of us before starting our own business” – said Paweł Przytuła, who will spend next summer at Bank of America in London.

Global Management Challenge (GMC) is the largest international business simulation, which has already been attended by more than half a million people around the world. Simulation participants play the role of virtual enterprise management board and make decisions on the operation of the company. Competition in Poland lasts six months and consists of four stages, in which the teams that achieve the best share prices are selected.

UW team now awaits the next challenge. On 17-18 April in Bucharest they will represent Poland in GMC World Finals.
