Deloitte Portugal’s bet in the current edition of the competition focuses on five university teams. Last year, a team of students supported by the consultant won the national edition and will therefore represent Portugal in the international final, scheduled for September. “We have been associated with this initiative for many years, because we believe that it supports intellectual development and encourages best management practices in our country and in other countries”, explains António Lagartixo, CEO of Deloitte Portugal.
The manager adds that it is part of the strategy of the organization that manages to help teams of students and that this is one of the actions they develop with the academic community. “The education and development of young people is something we are committed to”, stresses António Lagartixo, who believes that this test will prepare students for the job market and allow them to have one more experience in the field of management. As for the victory obtained in 2021, the CEO of Deloitte Portugal says that “it was a source of pride and reflects what we seek to do, which is to be the best in what we participate in”.
Hugo Morão leads the team of Deloitte/Beiras students that won the Global Management Challenge 2021. He says that “it was a very enriching experience to be part of this competition over the course of several participations and we realized that our skills have improved”. The division of tasks and teamwork were lessons learned from this practical challenge which, in his opinion, works as a complement to academic training.
